QuintoAndar 2020
A solid architecture for the new Sales department system
TEAM | Laurence Alves (Senior product designer) and Jessica Rojas (Senior product designer)
MY ROLE | Interview, research, facilitation, product discovery and prioritization, information architecture
Problem scope
CasaMineira was bought by QuintoAndar in 2021. And with this purchase we needed to integrate their online sales department and its actions to a system into QuintoAndar backoffice platform.
Previous system used:
π Extremely confusing and hard to operate
π Some manual and non-integrated features (e.g. Excel sheets, WhatsApp groups)
π It was not built with the objectives of the departmentβs user within their workflow in mind
Process
-
Research
In-depth interviews with the sales department in a semi-open script followed by a card-sorting exercise
-
Collaborative prioritization
Importance vs. Risk from findings in the research with sales team interviewees and product team
-
Purchase journey
Designed the journey of the buyer, seller and agent. Then mapped and connected the outputs into all stages.
-
RASCI matrix
Related actions with those responsible, systems and interactions within the Purchase journey
goal
Build a system that thought about the whole, and not just what would be included in the MVP, that encompassed the future of the department, its entire scope of work
π Bring this new team to the QuintoAndar universe as seamlessly as possible
π Make the departmentsβ routine easier
π Centralize actions (so team doesn't have to use multiple systems and PWAs)
Deliverables
Input and outputs mapping
Simplified architecture
Complete architecture
Benefits from making the architecture for the team
π Engineering had input to estimate deliveries (no screen needed)
π It helped a lot in deciding where this system would live in the backend platforms
π We gain more speed when executing
π Full understanding of what it should be in the long term and no need to redo it later
π Served as a basis for several discussions
π Allowed a junior designer to take on the project and seniors to be allocated to other initiatives
